About ZoomRadarTM
ZoomRadarTM = Interactive Weather
ZoomRadar
TM began as a way to allow people the same experience on the internet as meteorologists have in the weather center. When you watch a television meteorologist conduct storm coverage, you often see them ZOOM in and out of weather maps showing severe weather at street level. But this option was just not available on the internet yet. After an exhaustive and unsuccessful search, trying to find a company who was able to do this, Zoom Radar
TM was founded to create this technology. Today ZoomRadar
TM is comprised of a mix of meteorologists & computer programmers. The mission is to provide weather software that lures people to YOUR website and keeps them there. ZoomRadar LLC consults and hosts the weather map for you. We are always working to improve the technology with more weather options.
Meet The Team
President/Founder
For Jeff Berardelli, ZoomRadar came as an "Ah-Hah moment" over 2 years ago while pondering how to attract more visitors to his Miami TV station's website. We all know that in Florida it rains on one side of the street and not on the other. Wouldn't it be great if visitors could control their own radar experience and see rain all the way to their house!? After a month long search trying to find a weather company to do this, Jeff was surprised to find no one had this capability. And that's where the journey began.
Today ZoomRadar supplies interactive weather solutions to TV, Radio and Newspaper websites all across the nation. The staff of developers and computer technicians is dedicated to continue developing the most interactive, hyper-local & reliable weather solution on the market.
In addition to his work on ZoomRadar, Jeff is also a meteorlogist for WFOR (CBS) in Miami, FL. Before his time in Miami, Jeff served as morning meteorologist for WCBS-TV in NYC and fill-in weather anchor on the CBS Early Show. Prior to that Jeff worked as a TV meteorologist in the Tampa, Buffalo & Elmira markets. Jeff is a graduate of Cornell University with a degree in Atmospheric Sciences. Feel free to email Jeff at jeff@zoomradar.com -or- call at 917-734-8831 for more information.
Business Development
For a dozen years, Melinda Gipson guided online newspapers into interactive publishing as electronic media director of the Newspaper Association of America. She also brought GateHouse Media, the largest corporate owner of online community newspapers, into the Yahoo! Newspaper Consortium as Internet business director, and launched numerous national, locally-targeted Web applications. She has a passion for the relevance of local online media and the innovations that make it compelling.
“ZoomRadar taps the most visceral level of local relevance – what’s it doing where I want to be, and how will it affect my plans? I’d advise local online publishers to be pro-active with this great application. Put it on your ‘community home pages,’ tagged to the center point of the corresponding town. Add a ‘Check the weather’ adjacency to your restaurant listings or ‘going out guides’ so you can leverage the intent of a consumer weighing their entertainment plans with the ads you. As we painstakingly learned at the NAA with our ‘Power User’ research, weather has always been one of the top two or three reasons why users select a local website over any other. Now publishers can combine that felt need with the compelling engagement of being able to interact with the map in real-time and find out where the weather is at home, at work, at the golf-course, at the park – and everywhere in between! You’ll love this thing…”
